越南移民花園是基於對台灣越南移民社區的研究。經過數月的研究，藝術家Tuan Mami有機會見到許多住在台灣的越南人，他們是 1971 年至 1981 年間「越戰」的難民，他們是越南新娘、外來勞工、學生等，其中大部分人都住在這裡仍然想念他們的家鄉，尤其是他們家鄉的蔬菜和草藥的氣味和食物。他們中的許多人試圖收集越南植物來種植，從房子的小屋頂到學校宿舍的陽台、工廠的旁側，甚至是街上隨意空蕩的小土地……但要擁有一個家鄉的菜園並不容易，因為很多人每天從早到晚都在這兒很辛苦地工作，而且帶種子、植物、甚至水果到台灣也是違法的。 通過人與植物的花園和故事，藝術家Tuan Mami想看看我們的政治問題如何塑造了越南移民的思想和文化，看看我們的心態如何與我們的記憶和日常生活相關聯。因此他試圖創建一個社交平台，讓人們可以分享越南種子/植物以及移民故事；試圖為遠離家園的人們創造希望，同時也質疑我們現代社會/政治的發展方式。

 

Vietnamese Immigrated Garden is based on research about the Vietnamese immigration community in Taiwan. Through months of research, I have chance to meet many Vietnamese people living in Taiwan who were refugees from ‘Vietnam-China war’ during 1971-1981, who are Vietnamese brides, imported labours, students etc., most of them who are living here still miss their homeland, especially, the smells and foods from their home vegetables and herbs. Many of them try to collect Vietnamese plants to grow, from the small rooftop of their houses to the balcony of the school's dorms, the backside of their factory, or even random empty small lands on the street… But it is not easy to make that little wish, since many people are working very hard here every day from morning to midnight, and also it is illegal to bring seeds, plants, or even fruits to Taiwan. Through the garden and story of people and their plants, I want to see how our political issues have shaped our mind and culture, to see how our mentality is related to our memory and daily life. My idea is to create a social platform that people can share together Vietnamese seeds/plants and also immigrated stories. My project tries to create hope for people who are staying away from their homes, also question our modern society/politics on the way it is becoming.

Tuan Mami (藝術家 Artist, 越南 Vietnam)

Tuan Mami 是一位跨學科實驗藝術家，他不斷探索新的媒介和表達方法，使用越來越多的針對特定地點的裝置、視頻、表演和概念藝術的冥想實驗。近年來，他開始探索和觀察我們如何在移動中成為「人類」的概念。從 2014 年開始，Mami 一直在研究越南的移動社區和世界各地的越南僑民。他試圖觀察這些社區中發生的事情，以及在文化、精神、政治上保留、出現和消失的情況，以嘗試在新環境中適應和生存。他的作品是基於研究的項目，是根據特定地點的情況和重建概念開發的，處理有關生活、人與人之間的社交互動的問題，將情境重新構建為讓特定現實中的人或物體參與並共同參與社會過程的情境。除了作為創作者，他還創立了 MAC-Hanoi，一個移動藝術中心（2012）；自 2013 年起擔任河內芽山集體藝術空間的聯合創始人和創意經理；2013年舊金山藝術學院訪問學者； 2018年起擔任Á Space-An Experimental Art Space的創始人兼藝術總監。

Tuan Mami is an interdisciplinary-experimental artist who constantly explores new mediums and methods of expression, using increasingly meditative experimentations with site-specific installation, video, performance and conceptual art. In recent years, he has begun to explore and observe the concept of how we are *human* on the move. Starting from 2014, Mami has been researching moving communities in Vietnam and Vietnamese diasporas around the world. He has tried to observe what has happened in these communities, what has remained, appearing and disappearing culturally, mentally, politically in the attempt to adapt and survive in their new contexts. Mami’s works are research-based projects, which are developed on site-specific situations and re-constructional concepts. His focus deals with questions about life, social interactions between people, to re-construct situations into ones that engage people or objects from particular reality to enter and involve together in a social process. Other than being a creator, he has founded MAC-Hanoi, a Mobile Art Center (2012); Being Co-founder and creative manager of Nha San Collective Art Space in Hanoi since 2013; Visiting Faculty at San Francisco Art Institute in 2013; And Founder and Artistic Director of Á Space- An Experimental Art Space from 2018.

賴瑋婷｜Tiffany Lay (雜草稍慢藝術家 Weed Day's Artist , 台灣 Taiwan)

Tiffany 為此次BIO:ART SEA:T 計畫中藝術團隊雜草稍慢 (Weed Day) 的成員之一。雜草稍慢由兩位藝術家經營。他們意識到當前的城市景觀以及人類與自然互動的方式。用採集的雜草製作雜草茶和其他日常必需品。在採集時，他們選擇更具優勢和入侵性的植物，為本地物種留下更多空間，從而形成更加生物多樣性的環境。

對他們來說，雜草代表土地。茶也是台灣日常生活的重要組成部分。雜草茶是​​對話的開始，可以幫助人們了解環境及其多樣性。每次他們泡茶時，都會使用特定地點的植物（通常超過 20 種植物）的不同組合，因此對於每一種茶，他們都會寫下成分，向人們展示甚至在城市中我們周圍的各種植物.他們希望人們明白，我們都依賴微生物、昆蟲、植物和動物來繼續生存和健康。過去執行過的計畫包括書法、裝置、表演、社區項目等。他們兩人認為，我們所有人都需要成為自然生物多樣性的保護者。

Tiffany is one of the members of Weed Day in the BIO:ART SEA:T project. Weed Day is run by two foraging artists. They are conscious of the current city landscapes and the ways in which humans interact with nature. They make weed tea among other everyday essentials with the foraged weeds. When foraging they choose the more dominant and invasive plants leaving more space for native species resulting in a more biodiverse environment. ​

To them, the weeds speak for the land. Tea is also a huge part of everyday life in Taiwan. To them, weed tea is the start of the conversation to help people become aware of the environment and its diversity. Every time they make tea it is with a different combination of site-specific plants (usually more than 20 types of plants) thus for every tea they make they write the ingredients to show people the diverse amount of plants that surround us even within the city. They want people to understand that we all depend on microorganisms, insects, plants, and animals to continue to stay alive and healthy. Past projects have included calligraphy, installations, performances, community projects among others. The two of them believe that we all as humans need to become the protector of nature‘s biodiversity.
